We recently had the pleasure of installing a multi-species floor — these boards are ‘seconds’ and are marked by the mill as less-than-perfect. Most of these boards would go to waste in a typical installation, but multi-species installations allow us to give these sticks a new lease on life.
Multi-species installations require a unique installation and finish, as imperfections such as knots, holes, and scratches must be addressed before finishing can begin.
